The bonnet houses a scoop which emphasizes the Scorpios Sport Utility Vehicle status and at the same time works as an air intake for the engine. From the side the Mahindra Scorpio looks pretty much the same as it used to besides a few cosmetic changes. The sides exhibit a body colored molding type of a design with the word Mahindra Scorpio engraved on the lower portion of the back door and some graphics on the front door. Chrome finished alloy wheels add to the show and the special edition also provides for a footrest with 2 small lights which provide a we bit of lighting at night. Mahindra and Mahindra is ready to introduce their new jeep-look-alike SUV model Mahindra Thar in India this month. Mahindra Thar is a refined version of Commander Jeep and is being re-introduced by nearly after 10 years in the Indian market. With a price tag of Rs 7 lakhs, Mahindra plans to introduce this first in Kerala and Rajasthan in this December.
Mahindra Thar is already on the run now in South African roads at the price range of Rs 9.5-10 lakhs. M&M intends to refine this SUV to suit the Indian demands, said an official from the company. Mahindra had showcased the Thar concept at Bologna Motor Show. The Thar is powered by a 4 cylinder, 2500 cc turbo-diesel direct injection common rail engine producing 107Kw of power.
